Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council, (General Data Protection Regulation ((GDPR)) will enter into force on May 25th 2018. Due to the regulation, a new Swedish data protection act will be introduced and together with specific legislation, they will work as supplements to the regulation.
GDPR focuses on creating a unified and equal level for the protection of personal data within EU. The purpose of the regulation is to prevent the free movement of data from being interfered. Another purpose is to ensure the individual’s right of data protection.
